About three years ago, I noticed that when I was using Synology NAS, links to uploaded or downloaded resources were constantly being reset. This issue has been bothering me for a long time.

Although, the quality of Synology NAS is still good, such as stable performance, convenience, transmission speed and so on. But if the Reset Issue persists, there is no way to continue to use it effectively.

I have also tried to contact customer service for a solution, but obviously the customer service staff can only read the book, for the specific problems, staff cannot give an effective solution. By chance, I came across information about common problems with DDNS services, and I guessed that the Reset Issue of my NAS might be caused by the own poor parsing performance of Synology QuickConnection. Then, I did some tests and confirmed that it was the QuickConnection problem!

I also did some comparisons of the more popular DDNS solutions. If not for high concurrency business needs, I would like to recommend Synology DDNS solution, it’s free. But, QuickConnection solution are strongly NOT recommended!
